Janice "Janis" Dale Daix, 44, of Summit, MS.,  passed away on May 14, 2026 at UMMC in Jackson, MS..

Visitation will be Saturday  May 23, 2026 at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Rimes will be officiating and weather permitting burial will be in Cook Cemetery in Magnolia. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Janis was born in McComb, Mississippi  on November 9, 1981. She is the daughter of  Elizabeth Cook Farris.

Janis entered into eternal rest with the Lord. Janis was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and her family. Though our family path faced earthly complexities, we find solace in knowing she found absolute healing and rest in her heavenly home. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

She is preceded in death by step-father Art Kinsley, one brother, Matthew Paul Dunaway, grandfather Willie Cook and grandmother Virginia Cook.

She is survived by her mother, the beloved father of her children, Edwin J. Daix, step-mother, Nancy Kinsley, one son Edwin Joseph Daix III, two daughters, Sadie Lane Daix and Zoey Helen Daix, three brothers, Daniel Althor, Jeffrey Dunaway Jr., and Elijah Rock, two sisters, Sarah Meche and Tanya Dunaway with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Quinn, Daniel Althor, Aiden Althor, Robert Hopkins and Luke Hopkins.
