JC Johnson, 90, went to be with the Lord Monday morning February 13, 2023 with his wife & best friend "Max" by his side.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 with visitation 9:00 am – 11:00 am with the service at 11:00 am at JJ White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Dr. David Millican will be officiating under the direction of Hartman Jones Funeral Home.

JC was born November 30, 1932 in Belton, TX.

JC came to MS from Waco, TX with the International Shoe Company. He later went to work at First National Bank for 16 years before purchasing Pete Wade's on Hwy 24 West of McComb.  He owned & operated it until he retired in 2004. He played Santa Claus & was in the McComb Christmas Parade for many years. He was also known as the ice cream man that always had children hanging all over his ice cream wagon. He was probably known as the best peanut man of Pike County.

He was preceded in death by his mother Charley McCray Lane & step father Jess Lane, brother Charles Johnson of Fort Worth, TX; sister Shirley Franklin & husband Bud of Temple, TX & brother-in-law Jerry Godbold of Magnolia, MS.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 wonderful years, Linda Godbold Johnson of Magnolia, MS, sons Jay Johnson & Significant Other Karen Henley of Madison, MS, Jim Johnson & wife Dedee of McComb, MS; half-sister Joyce Gaby of Belton, TX & half-brother Jerry Lane & wife Judy of Belton, TX; brother-in-law Bennie Godbold & wife Janice; grandchildren Kaitlyn & husband Mitchell Young, Chelsey & Niki Johnson & fiancé. Glen Rimes; great grandchildren Charlotte & Levi Young & numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
