Obituary

Jeffery Grant Nunnery, 67, passed away at home with those that loved him on January 19, 2025.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Tangipahoa Baptist Church from 5 PM until 8 PM, continuing Friday, January 24, 2025 from 12 PM until services at 2 PM. Bro. Mike Morris will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Grant was born on October 19th, 1957 to Wayne and Betty Nunnery in McComb, MS. At an early age, Grant was nicknamed Fred or Freddie and became known as that by most friends and family. Grant was a meat cutter by trade for over 42 years and was loved by coworkers and customers. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and his best days were spent on his family home place with his family enjoying all nature had to offer. He was caring and giving with his life's mission to provide for the family he loved so much. He was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers James Michael "Mike" Nunnery and George Randel Nunnery, a father-in-law Greg Smith and mother-in-law Becky Riddle, a son-in-law Larry Brown, and a very special cousin Rachel Neely Miller.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife of 19 years Shannon Smith Nunnery, two daughters Lacey Brown and Rebekah Nunnery, two sons Lane Miller and Colton Nunnery, one brother John Nunnery, a nephew Jamie Nunnery, five grandchildren Cailyn Brown, Austin Thompson, Bella Brown, Kensley Brown, and Lucas Miller, a sister and brother in law Ken and Susan Dobson, one uncle Doug Robinson (Pam), one aunt Peggy Westbrook and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Nunnery, Michael Kramer, James Chisholm, Bailey Boyd, Brayden Boyd, Clint Boyd, Jeffery Miller, Kyle Miller, Ted Grimes, and Chris Morris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Douglas Robinson, Buddy Padgett and Todd Carruth.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ASAP (Aiding Shelter Animals Project) or East Fork Volunteer Fire Department.
