Jeffrey Taylor
Craghead
October 4, 1970 – March 8, 2023
Jeffrey Taylor Craghead, 52, of McComb, MS passed away peacefully at Southwest Regional Medical Center on March 8th 2023.
Services will be held on March 20th at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb. Visitation will be from 10-11 am with service from 11am-12pm. Reception to follow at JJ White Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Rev. Chris Richardson will officiate.
Jeffrey was born on October 4th 1970 to Vicki and James Craghead in Silver City, New Mexico. He grew up and went to school in Tucson, AZ where he made true lifelong friends. Jeffrey served in the US Army Mechanized Infantry from 1990-1994. He was deployed as a M2 Bradley driver during Desert Storm.
He became a father to his only daughter, Brianna, in 1994. They were instantly best friends, frequenting The Zoo and attending many Sidewinders baseball games together. Jeffrey moved to McComb in 2010. During his time in McComb he continued to impact many people's lives as a loyal friend, trustworthy coworker, and loving brother.
He worked at Belk for years. He loved making his colleagues and customers laugh and making kids- and adults- feel the magic of Christmas as "Santa". Jeffrey always loved spending time with the kids in his life. He was quick to bump someone into the pool, race to the car, or toss a football to you across a store. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan his entire life, and was always up for a round of golf or a game (or 4) of bowling.
Jeffrey leaves behind a wide array of friends and loved ones filled with fun memories of times with him.
Jeffrey is survived by his Mother Vicki Craghead (Wayne Hutchison), Daughter Brianna (Codey) Davis, Aunts Cathy Osborne, Lisa (James) Hutchinson, Penny Sanders, Judy (Burt) Boyd, numerous cousins, and many friends that became family to him; Sara Beth (Gracie Senner, Henry and Hayden) Williams, Melisa (Andrew) DeCoux, Alison (Howard, Steven, and Kristen) Allred, Allison (Manny, Max, and Ace Easley, Emmylou Wilson) Carr and many, many others.
He is preceded in death by his Father James Craghead, and Grandparents James Taylor, Helen Taylor, Jean McAlpin, William Craghead, Edith Craghead, and Elizabeth Craghead.
The family send special thanks to The Mississippi Cancer Institute and Compassus for your attention and care during this time. You truly make a difference in the lives you touch.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Jeffrey. He was passionate about football, youth programs, cancer research, and of course, his dogs.
One last thing… GO COWBOYS!
