Jimmy Dale Minton graduated to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in McComb, MS.

Visitation will be held at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home on Delaware Avenue on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 9:00 am until services begin at 11:00 am. The Reverend Rick Kennedy will officiate. Graveside services will be immediately following at Magnolia Cemetery.

Jimmy was born on April 1, 1937 in McComb, MS. Jimmy was a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Summit, MS. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard for 12 years, 1957 to 1969. He was a graduate of Fernwood High School in the class of 1957. He drove a bus in Baton Rouge, LA for four years after high school. He was a self employed distributor for Tom's Snack Foods for 47 years. He was the owner of Western Auto in Magnolia, MS for 3 years. He owned rental properties and sold honey until the time of his death.

Jimmy was an athlete. He loved golf, tennis, baseball and fast pitch softball. He was a people person who never met a stranger. He laughed easily and often and prided himself on making others laugh along with him. He loved God, his church, his family and his pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Minton and Edith McKenzie Minton. Three brothers, John T. Minton, Jr., Charles Edward Minton and Henry L. Minton. One sister, Emma Jean Wall.

He is survived by one son, Michael L. Minton, daughter-in-law, Jan Minton, two grandchildren, Zane Michael and Kylee Gail Minton of Fernwood, MS. Two sisters, Bernice Boone of Jackson, MS and Sandra Cardiff of Katy, TX. One brother, Earl Minton of McComb, MS. Special cousins, Rhonda McKenzie Pitts, Smitty McKenzie and Darrell McKenzie all of TX. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
