Mr. John T. Ham, Jr., 84, a resident of Smithdale, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.  Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Thompson Baptist Church.  Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till service time at 11 A.M. at the church.  The Reverend Jim Bradford will officiate.

Mr. Ham was born September 25, 1939 in Jayess, Mississippi the son of the late John T. Ham and Helen Bernice Hedgepeth Ham.  He was employed for many years as a salesman for Jim Reeves Mobile Homes.  He was a member of Thompson Baptist Church and loved playing golf, working with computers, and raking and caring for his yard.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, David Lee Ham.

Mr. Ham is survived by his wife, Mona Barron Ham of Smithdale.  One son, Chris and wife, Debra Ham of Smithdale.  Two daughters:  Tanya and husband, Jay Mellinger of Smithdale, and Tamara and husband, Sean Gill of McComb.  One brother, Eugene Ham of Natchez, Mississippi.  8 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren; and 2 Great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Ham's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery with Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Thompson Baptist Church is requested.
