John William Hope, 86, passed away on February 5, 2022 at Ridgeland Place in Ridgeland MS.
Visitation will be at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM in Hollywood Cemetery officiated by Dr. David Millican.
John was born on January 8, 1936 in McComb MS.
He attended school in McComb, MS then Southwest Jr. College. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors and a Master's degree. John taught math in junior high school in Panama City Florida for his working career until his retirement. John served in the Mississippi National Guard in McComb.
He was Mason and a Shriner. John loved hunting and fishing and loved to talk about his hunting and fishing trips. He loved to tell stories of funny things that happened in his years growing up in McComb.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rawls and Julia Hope. Aunts and uncles; Johnnie V. and Woodrow Addison, Doris and Jewell Cole, Melton and Ophelia Moore, Willie Faye and Howard White, and grandmother Annie Moore.
He is survived by his cousins Nancy Addison, Kenneth Addison, Patricia Cole Cox, Nancy Moore Hewitt, and Ginger Moore Shands. Being an only child, John loved his cousins as brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
