John R. "Johnny" Johnston, 56, a resident of McComb, MS passed away on February 14, 2026 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Johnny was born to Florence Stevens and James Brister on November 12, 1969. He was a kind hearted man, who would help anyone in need. He loved his family and worked hard for them. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children Rachel Johnston, Ruby Johnston, James Johnston, and John Johnston; his siblings James Brister (Cindy), Anita Jordan (Doyle) and Tabitha Brewer (Steven); his step-father James Stevens; his step-brothers Daryl and Lamar Stephens; three grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
