John Edgar Wilkerson, 94, of Yorktown passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

He was born May 29, 1928 in Smithdale, MS to the late John Preston and Vera Dee Barron Wilkerson.

John served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant

He is survived by his daughter Stacy (Dr. Gordon) Barth, companion of ten years Caroline Blain, granddaughter Beth (David) West, grandson Dr. Colin Barth, great-grandchildren Stephen, and Lila Shelby Gresham. John is also survived by his sister Marie (Leo) Van Buren, sister-in-law Donna Wilkerson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lila Jean Wilkerson, daughter Lila Susan Kelly, grandson John Alex Barth, brother Grady Wilkerson and niece Dee Van Buren.

Visitation was from 9:30 AM Saturday, December 17, 2022 until services at 10 AM at Massey Funeral Home of Yorktown, Texas

Interment will be at the Mars Hill Baptist church cemetery on Wednesday December 21, 2022 at 10 AM. Dr. David Millican officiating with Air Force Military Honors.
