Obituary

Judith Nell Jones Falvey, 77, of Summit, MS, gained her angel wings on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her son's home surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born to Jerrymire Judson Jones and Vera Oglesby Jones on August 11, 1944, in Magnolia, MS, where she grew up and graduated high school in 1962.  After high school, she attended Southwest Junior College and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in library science.  She continued her education and earned a Master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Judy began her career as the director of the Pike County Library, which is now known as the Pike Amite Walthall Library System.  She later worked for the North Pike School District as the lead librarian and media specialist.  After 35 years of dedicated service, she retired.  Judy, and her mother, Vera Jones, were the first mother and daughter to teach together at North Pike School District.

Judy enjoyed a life of travel!  If she wasn't on a trip, she was planning one.  She also loved to read and research the genealogy of her family.  She took pride in her needlepoint and making special pieces for her loved ones, including stitching coverings for the prayer kneelers at Centenary United Methodist Church.  Judy took pleasure in sharing stories and photos of her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandson.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Jerrymire and Vera Jones, her husband, Norman David Falvey Jr., and her brother Charles Eugene Jones.

Left behind to cherish her memory and legacy are her sons, Stephen Elliot Adams, and wife Julia of Summit, Peyton "Pat" Seab Adams and wife Liz of Cimarron, NM; grandchildren, Justin Adams, and wife Jordan, of Summit, and Autumn and Grace Adams of Cimarron; and one great-grandson, Jase Adams of Summit; brothers Steve Jones, and wife Cathy of Bogue Chitto, and Jerry Jones Jr., and wife Polly, of Magnolia.  She is remembered by numerous friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM with a memorial service to celebrate Judy's life beginning at 6:00 PM at the Harman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb with Rev. Brad Fitzgerald officiating.

The family offers its sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of St. Luke Home Health as well as McComb Nursing and Rehab along with Hospice Compassus for the care and loving support that they provided for Judy and the family over the past several months.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to the Miss Mattie Foundation at P.O. Box 445, McComb, MS, 39649 or online at missmattie.org .
