Judy Wanda Thornton Bond, 71, of Franklin County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026. Born on February 24, 1955., Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and stepmother who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Judy was the beloved wife of Bobby J. Bond for 32 years. Together, they shared a life filled with family, love, laughter, and many special memories. Some of Judy’s happiest times were spent camping on the river with Bobby, enjoying the outdoors and making memories together. Those simple moments were among the things she treasured most.

Judy was a devoted mother who loved all of her children dearly. She is survived by her sons, Jeremy Carraway (Jerri) and William Reedy; her stepson, Donald Bond (Michelle); her stepdaughter, Bekki Bond; and her daughter-in-love, Traci Carraway (Duke). She was preceded in death by her parents, J.L. Thornton and Edith McKenzie Thornton, and her beloved son, Jonathan “Duke” Carraway.

Though her family will miss her dearly, they find comfort in knowing that Judy and her son Duke are now reunited, together once again.

Judy is survived by her sister, Nenna Evans (Bill), and her brother, Harris Thornton (Cindy), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Judy spent many years as a secretary at Southwest Mississippi Community College. She took pride in her work and in the many people she met throughout her years there. Her years at the college were an important part of her life and the legacy she leaves behind.

One of Judy’s greatest joys was being a grandmother. She loved keeping her grandchildren and spending time with them. Her five grandsons—Chris Carraway (Alana Case, bride-to-be), Blake Carraway, Gavin Reedy, Brian Carraway, and Jamie Carraway—held a very special place in her heart. The memories they made with their grandmother will be treasured for years to come.

Judy had a creative and caring spirit. She loved painting, crafting, working in her garden, watching the hummingbirds, and doing word searches. She found joy in keeping her hands busy, tending to her garden, creating beautiful things, and, most of all, spending time with the people she loved.

Judy’s greatest gift was the love she gave to her family. She will be remembered for the memories made around the river, the time spent caring for her grandchildren, the simple things that brought her joy, and the love she gave so freely.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we are grateful for every moment, every memory, and every bit of love she left behind. Judy may no longer be here to hold her family close, but she will forever remain a part of each of them.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved and missed always.

A memorial service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at New Salem Baptist Church, 3634 King Road, Liberty, Mississippi, on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. (please contact Belle's Bliss for flower orders 601-384-5060).

Food and fellowship will follow the service as family and friends gather to share memories and celebrate the life of a woman who was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
