Kathy Breland Ellzey Williams, 72, a resident of Magnolia died at the Forrest County General Hospital in Hattiesburg on Friday, August 26, 2022.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 5 till 8 at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home.
She was born June 21, 1950 in Walthall County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late R.Q. and Birdie Starling Breland.
She graduated from Tylertown High School in 1968 and in 1972, received a BS Degree in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi followed by a Master of English Degree in 1998. She taught at Tylertown High School for 30 years, and then after retiring from there, she taught for 17 years in Washington Parish, Louisiana Schools. Mrs. Williams loved animals, birds, and flowers and was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Judith Robinson Chapter of the DAR. She was a former member of Tylertown Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed being a doting grandmother. She also enjoyed taking adventures with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Williams; and two sisters, Anita Breland Kilcrease and Carolyn Breland Ray.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Susan Ellzey McNeil and husband, Tim of Sumrall, MS and Kathryn "Kacey" Ellzey of Magnolia; Step-children, Wayland Warren Ellzey and Jennifer of Drummonds, Tennessee, Jason Williams and Tonia, Heather Fortenberry and Lee all of Magnolia and Brenna Burris and Scott of Starkville, MS; her Grandchildren, Kaden McNeil, Khylan Johnson, Ethan McNeil, and Grace McNeil; her Step-grandchildren, Paul Ellzey and Patricia, Tyler Ellzey, Caden Williams, Colby Fortenberry, and Keely Fortenberry; her nephew, Roland Ray and Michelle; her niece, Jackie Kilcrease Lambert and Fred Kilcrease.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Judith Robinson Chapter of DAR in McComb.
