Gaston "Lamar" Therrell, Jr., 95, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 22, 2022, at his daughter's home in Summit, MS.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022  at 10:00 AM in Hollywood Cemetery.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Lamar was born November 30, 1926 in Goose Creek, TX to Gaston Lamar Therrell, Sr. and Jimmie Lee Spurlock Therrell.

He served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves.  He enjoyed playing golf and loved competitive games of Gin Rummy and Bridge.  He was affectionately known by his friends as "Big Foot".

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Polly Therrell, his daughter Kay Ellsworth, a brother Raleigh Therrell and a sister Barbara Therrell.

He is survived by his son David Whitehead (Sue) of Denver, Co, daughters Tonya Therrell Krone of Summit, MS, Gina Smith (Paul) of Summit, MS, grandchildren Adam Whitehead, Ben Whitehead (Melissa), Melissa and Nicholas Ellsworth, Evan Smith (Miranda), Kelley Ott (Kaci), Sean Smith (Danielle), Ryan Smith (Sierra), Savanna Moore (Landon), Jax Smith, 15 great grandchildren, son in-law Morgan Ellsworth along with numerous friends and other relatives.
