Larry "Do-Rite" Hughes, 72, a resident of Tylertown, MS; passed away July 22, 2023 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Enon Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. Rev. Danny Smith and Rev. David Hedden will officiate.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Larry was born on January 19, 1951 in Valdosta, GA to Rentz Hughes and Juanita May Davis.  He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.  He served on the nominating committee, the budget committee, the ballot committee, and the cemetery committee.  He was a dedicated member of the church.  Since retiring his pastimes were fishing, mowing the grass, burning anything and everything.  He enjoyed the time spent with his friends and especially his family, and the camping crew.  He also enjoyed helping Mr. Milton with the cemetery, coffee with Mr. Louie and Mrs. Grace. He was always just a phone call away for Lennie to help unload trucks, or take a road trip. He loved all things Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt. He could be found riding his side by side, checking the gardens and animals for family and neighbors and keeping people stirred up.  Sunday suppers were special times and he looked forward to them weekly.  He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Beverly Marie Smith Hughes of Tylertown, his mother Juanita Davis (Vernon) of Lake Park, GA, daughters Sheri Buras (Donnie) of Tylertown, MS and Teri Hawn (Justin) of Tylertown, MS, grandchildren Delahna Buras, Bailey Hawn and Bentley Hawn, a sister Shirlie Rewis (Russell) of Valdosta,  GA a nephew Rory Smith of Covington, LA, grandchildren-in-love Blane and Sara Bossier, , along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Justin Hawn, Lennie Bossier, Blane Bossier, Dan Hawn, Raymond Dyer, Telly Bourg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Buras, Jr., Louie Huhn, Milton Dunaway, Calvin McEwen, Ronnie Campbell, Jerry Boyd, Terry Boyd, Louis Boyd, Wayne Thornhill and Kevin Coon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Empire Cemetery Fund, in Nashville, GA in care of Juanita Davis 3350 Hwy 135N, Lake Park, GA 31636.
