Mrs. Laura Marie Prescott, 95, a resident of Magnolia, died peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Monday, April 4, 2022.

Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. till services at 12 Noon on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Unity Baptist Church. The Reverend Jeremy Greer will officiate. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery with Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

She was born September 7, 1926 in Amite County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late James Edwin Smith and Ruth Case Smith Jordan.  She was a graduate of Magnolia High School and began her working career in banking and retired after forty years.  She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and had the sweetest spirit, and one seldom saw her when she wasn't smiling.  She loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Prescott was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Robert W. Prescott, Jr; a son, William "Bill' Gerald Prescott; a great-granddaughter, Kayla K'Ann Dawson; three brothers, Burnell (Doretha) Smith, Charles (Vivian) Smith, and Claude L. (Geraldine) Smith, Jr.; two half-brothers, Ed Smith and Frank Smith; four half-sisters, Ola Mae Carona, Anna Bell Buwe, Allie Mae Gunderson and Bonnie Bell Ravencraft.

Mrs Prescott is survived by one son, Ronny (Kaye) Prescott; two daughters, Becky (Kevin) Dawson and Jan Walsh; six grandchildren, Ron (Mandi) Prescott, Ramsey (Nina) Prescott, Kim Toler, Kristi Dawson, Kelli (fiancé, David Randall) Dawson and Bill Walsh (Nikki); thirteen Great-grandchildren, Leighton, Ella Claire, Sky, Lauren, Brody, Robbie Dawn, Kalix, Grayson, Baylor, Makenzi, Ethan, Emma Grace, and Mason; four Great-great grandchildren, Kaylynn, Kori Kate, Karsyn, and Boden; A very special friend, Ella Grace Gerald and special niece, Linda Kay Campbell.

Pallbearers will be Ron Prescott, Ramsey Prescott, Len Smith, Charlie Smith, Bill Walsh, and Brody Toler.

The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to her loving and devoted caregivers Kim Williams, Misty McCrimmon, Christian Ducote, Greg Shaw, and Deaconess Hospice of Brookhaven.
