Lavell T "Pops" Roberts, 86, a resident of Magnolia, MS, passed away at his home on January 3, 2024.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at East Union Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow in Durham Cemetery.  Bro. Wade Barnes will officiate.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Lavell was born on August 29, 1937 in Marion Co., MS to Charlie May Roberts and Polly Eva Morgan Robets.  He was a devoted member of East Union Baptist Church.  He spent time gardening and sharing his crops with the widows in the community. He loved his family and enjoyed the time with his children, grandchildren and family, fishing.  He loved the meals at Popwell's Family Restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers C.M. Roberts, Dale Roberts, Vernall Roberts and a sister Bernice McCraw.

He is survived by his wife Loraine Brown Roberts of Magnolia, a son Will Gatlin (Angela) of Bogue Chitto, MS, a daughter Chasity Jordan of Magnolia, sisters Norma Carr and Theresa Popwell (James), grandchildren Alisa Gatlin (Michael) of Bogue Chitto, Payton Jordan (Ashley) of Tylertown, Emily Hardin (Christian) of Bogue Chitto and Kaitlyn King of Bogue Chitto, great grandchildren Rayna Jane Jordan, Wyatt Jordan, Ryker Frazier, Remley Adams, and Novalee King, a special nieces Tammy Kelley, Lacey Howell and Jacey Grace Howell, sisters-in-law Helen May Brown, Amanda Brown, Louise Roberts and Helen Roberts, special friends Martha Simmons, Elaine Johnston, Michelle Durham, and Lee Thornhill, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Will Gatlin, Christian Bass, Payton Jordan, Lee Thornhill, Michael Ballard and Billy Morgan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shelton Boleware, Steven Boleware, Clyde Paulk, Snuffy Smith, James Huckebee, Kye Kelley.
