LaVerta "Sissy" Mae Jackson Mire, 72 of McComb, MS passed from this life on November 18, 2025. She was born on November 9, 1953 to James "Henry" and Ethel Milkhausee Jackson in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sissy lived her life to the fullest until she had several strokes in 2024 that took her down. She moved in with her daughter Sandra and her son-in-law. She spent the last several months at McComb Nursing and Rehabiliation where she left this life with her chidren, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law by her side. Sissy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both parents, James Henry and Ethel Jackson; her husband Chester Mire; one daughter Michelle Ann Burnette; two grandchildren Justin Blake Evans and Karrington Rayne Burnette.

She is survived by her children Sandra Kay Swain McGehee (Caj), Scotty Allen Burnette (Cassie), and Dwayne Anthony Burnette (Destiny); ten grandchildren Dustie Michelle Burnette, Harley Melanie Burnette, Scotty Allen Burnette Jr., Aaron Beck, Conner Allen Burnette, Ella Piper Burnette, Juston Etheridge McGehee (J.J.), Payton James McGehee, Sandra Jean Etheridge McGehee (Jeanie), and Jaxon Murray; and three great-grandchildren Nikolus, Remington, and James.
