Obituary

Leon Joseph Gaudin, Jr., 84, of Magnolia, MS passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024 at Courtyard Rehabilitation and Nursing in McComb.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 10 AM until services at 12 PM. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery. Rev. Victor McInnis will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gaudin, Bryce Gaudin, Brody Gaudin, Donald Clement and Jon Beech.

Leon was born in Darrow, LA on September 7, 1939 to the late Leon Joseph Gaudin, Sr. and Eloise Coriell Gaudin. He served in the Louisiana National Guard. He was a port captain and a tug boat captain for 33 years with E.N. Bisso and Son Inc. In 1979, he moved to Pike County to follow his dreams of being a farmer and raise cattle. He was a longtime member of the Pike County Cattle Association. His most prized achievement was his herd of registered beef masters and was a member of BBU. He retired from the marine industry in 1996 and from there raised poultry for Sanderson Farms until 2023.

He was preceded in death by parents and one grandson, Justin Gaudin.

He is survived by his wife of 63 long, happy years, Carole Gaudin; two sons, Edward Gaudin and Evan Gaudin; four grandchildren Bryce Gaudin and Brody Gaudin along with their mother, Julie B. Walker, Michael Gaudin and Devan McKinley (Stephen) along with their mother, Lorie Griffith; six great-grandchildren Fallon, Iris, Kerrigan, Elise, Gabby, and Sebastian; one sister, Patricia LeBlanc; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
