Linda George Rimes, 74 of Magnolia, Mississippi, passed away at her home peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Visitation will be held at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Magnolia, Mississippi on Friday, July 7 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm and will continue Saturday, July 8 at 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Dr. Woody Rimes will officiate along with Bro. PJ Weeks. Hartman Jones Funeral home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Linda was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on April 26, 1949 to her Mother Marguerite Hope George and her Father James George. She was a long-time member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. She loved reading, watching Westerns and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never met a stranger and she will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John "Ricky" Rimes Jr., brother Billy George, brother-in-law Jack Rey and son in law Mike Johnson.

She is survived by her three sons and one daughter, John Rimes III (Angie), Angela Melton (Ritchie), Justin Rimes (Amanda) and Joshua Rimes (Whitney); sister Carolyn Rey and brother Jim George (Kate); fourteen grand-children Michael (Ashley), Chandler, Gage, and Slade Johnson; Kaymon and Kinsley Melton; Cassidy Rayborn (Michael), Rantley, Eva and Joshua Crew Rimes; Lauren, Kaitlyn and Brody Rimes; and Jonathan Salazar (Brittney); Seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bond, Ivey Rimes, Lee Fortenberry, Mel Fortenberry, Jake DeBlanc and Jason DeBlanc.
