Margaret "Evelyn" Hilton, 93, a resident of Camellia Estates in McComb, MS., went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2026.

Visitation is Monday, June 1, 2026 at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb from 10 AM until services at 12 Noon. Rev. Richard Cothern will officiate and burial will follow at Terry Cemetery in Smithdale, MS.

Evelyn was born in Smithdale, MS., on August 13, 1932. She is the daughter of the late, Jack Smith Sr. and Ethel Terry Smith.

Evelyn was a past telephone operator and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smithdale. She was a wonderful and loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. In her youth she enjoyed bowling and basketball, in her later years she enjoyed cross stitching and growing African violets. She also was a great cook,  loved her church family and especially singing in the choir. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifton Hilton, one brother, Jackie Smith Jr., two sisters, Alice Steele and Nellie Spring and a grandson, Brandon Wells.

She is survived by her son Stanley Hilton (Debbie), one daughter Beth Johnson (Scott), three grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley and Tara, five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Triston, Easton, Landyn and Dominick, a step-grandson  Conner O. Quin with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and a personal helper Susan Jackson.
