Obituary

On January 16, 2022 Marilyn Lois Coley of Smithdale, MS went to her heavenly home to join the Lord and the love of her life Frank (Buddy) Coley who was her grade school sweetheart with whom she spent 62 wonderful years as his wife.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Bro. Phillip Parnell will officiate.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

She was born to Stenman and Irene Fonseca of New Orleans, LA on November 28, 1933.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She was a devout Christian lady who truly served the Lord in all that she did.  She worked as a nurse in Zachary, LA and was secretary at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Smithdale where she was a member for many years.  She loved playing pokeno with her friends, and spending time with her family.  Her life revolved around her family.  She was a second mother to so many people.  She always put everyone else before herself and would do anything for anyone who needed help.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buddy Coley, her sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Louis Price and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She is survived by her sons Herman Coley (Shirley) and Steven Coley (Carolyn), grandchildren Lana, Devin, Kevin, Justin C., Jaime, Janelle, Codi, Garrett, Skeeter, Buddy, Justin F, Jayme, Joel, Justine, Ashley; great grandchildren Cole, Leah, Halle, Lainey, Peyton, Catherine, Katie, Logan, Mance, Starr, Brady, Brenna, Darah, Jacob, Jamison, Blain, Blair, Chris, Olivia; along with numerous other relatives and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke Hospice and a special thanks to Kala, Denise and Della for all their love and care.  They would also like to express a special thank you to her caregiver Eileen Wells for her love and devotion.

Pallbearers will be:  Kevin Coley, Justin Coley, Skeeter Felder, Buddy Felder, Justin Felder and Cole Sterling.

Honorary pallbearers will be:  Rick Brister, Terry Tullier, Lamar McKenzie and James Westbrook.
