Obituary

Mary Kathleen (Porter) Doiron, 74, simply took God's hand and slipped away Saturday morning, October 24, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melrose Boggan and Robert Alan Porter, and her beloved husband, Kermit Jude Doiron.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Brenda Porter Hester, and her brother, Ted Allison (Marina), three children, Dena Melann LeBoeuf, Darren Marc LeBoeuf, and Leia Michelle LeBoeuf Elfrey (Steven); her grandchildren, Jude LeBoeuf, Isiah Guidry, Denver LeBoeuf, Benjamin Rogers, Jasmine Hall, Bastian Hall, Abigail Allemand, and Brandon Steele; and great-grandchildren Mia Guidry and Faith Rogers.

Kathy dedicated over 34 years of her life to teaching and making a difference in children's lives. She taught second and sixth grade in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, and worked in Adapted Physical Education, helping children with disabilities experience the joy and benefits of physical activity. These children were just as much hers as her biological ones. Her work reflected a life spent caring for others and making a difference.

Kathy was a woman who believed in working hard and enjoying life, too. She loved good music, good times, good people, and being outdoors in the sunshine. Whether she was camping, traveling to visit friends and family, spending a day at the beach, or heading out on the boat to fish, Kathy was always up for an adventure. She always enjoyed having a little garden of her own. Grilling out, spending time with family and friends, and watching her beloved New Orleans Saints were some of her favorite ways to enjoy a day. Kathy enjoyed staying active and being involved in her community. She sang in the choir at her Methodist church.

Kathy lived her life in her own way, with memories that were sometimes messy, often memorable, and uniquely hers. Like anyone, her life held different chapters, and those who knew her will carry their own memories of the woman she was. She leaves behind a little bit of herself in every summer trip, every day on the water, every backyard cookout, and every Saints game watched a little too loudly.

There is something comforting about knowing she’s up there having a good old time with Kermit and everyone else who’s gone before. We can picture her catching up with him, sharing a laugh, and picking up right where they left off.

She will be remembered for her dedication to teaching, her love of family, her adventurous spirit, her laughter, and her ability to enjoy the good things in life. Though her family and friends will miss her dearly, the stories, traditions, and memories she leaves behind will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

Services for Mary Kathleen Doiron will be held at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb, Mississippi. Visitation will take place Monday, November 2, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Sis. Connie Felter will officiate and a graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit, Mississippi.
