Mary Ann Sterling O'Brien, 86, from Magnolia, MS passed away February 1st, 2025, at Courtyard Rehabilitation and Healthcare in McComb, MS.
Mary Ann was born on January 18th, 1939 to James H. and Vera Sterling. She was a member of FBC Magnolia where she was a member of the choir and Sunday School for many years. Throughout the years, she took advantage of ministry opportunities and retreats in Mississippi, Georgia, and other states as well. During her working years, she worked at Corner Drugs and Magnolia Discount Drugs in Magnolia. She finished her employment at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb where she worked for 19 years. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, reading, word search puzzles, watching a good movie and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers James Sterling, Kenneth Sterling, and Wayne Sterling and sisters Betty Revis, Mildred Hong, and Bobbye Padgett.
She is survived by her children Tim O'Brien (Holly) of Summit, Ken
O'Brien (Sherri) of Ocala, FL, Jo Ann Hanks (Tony) of Sulphur, LA, and Cari O'Brien of Sulphur, LA, grandchildren Ty O'Brien, Bre O'Brien, Kaitlyn O'Brien, April Gonzales, Autumn Morgan, numerous great grandchildren, sisters Peggy and Maxine, along with other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to Enhabit Hospice for the special care they gave to her the last couple of months, as well as her caretakers and friends at Courtyard for the last several years.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings (Women in need ofGod's Shelter) in McComb.
A short visitation will be held at FBC Summit on Wednesday, February 12th from 1:30 PM until memorial services at 2:00 PM. Dr. David Millican will officiate.
