Mary Mixon Sanders Spurgeon, 73, of McComb passed away Saturday May, 16, 2026 at her residence.

Visitation will be at J. J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church 110 3rd. St. McComb, MS on May 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM until memorial services there at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Cassie Alston will officiate.

She was born on November 29, 1952 in McComb, MS to the late Tom Sanders and Gladys Mixon Sanders.

She was a retired accountant and worked for Ronnie Thaxton for numerous years. She was a longtime member of J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church.  She loved working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and playing games on her iPad, enjoying retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Michael Spurgeon; her daughter Holly Spurgeon Williams; two sisters Margie Wicker and Judy Hudson.

She is survived by her son Joseph W. Spurgeon; her brother Tom Sanders of New Orleans, LA; one niece Judy Passman of McComb; and one nephew David Hudson of Sleepy Hollow, NY.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to J. J. White Presbyterian Church 110 3rd St. McComb, MS 39648.
