Maxine Pine Pannell, 81, of McComb, MS passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at her residence. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until services at 2:00 PM.  Bro. Toby Jones will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ebenezer Methodist church cemetery.

Maxine was born in McCall Creek, MS on February 28, 1943 to William Forrest Jones and Edith Pearl Holden Jones. She was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church. She worked as a rural mail carrier for many years.  Maxine was a fantastic bowler and enjoyed it immensely, even owning McComb Bowl for years.  She loved to travel and play the piano until her passing.  She enjoyed arts and crafts especially making flower arrangements.  She spent time shopping and was quick witted and loved a good joke.  She loved her children and family, she was called Granny by many; her home was opened to anyone who needed it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Alfred Lee Pine and James Larry Pannell, two brothers Basil Jones and Phillip Jones, a grandson Jason Todd Pine and a great grandson Brentley Hilton Pine, a favorite nephew Tommy Frazier, father-in-law Leonard Pine.

She is survived by her children Sharon Pine of McComb, MS, Buddy Pine (Sherry) of River Ridge, LA and Greg Pine (Melissa) of McComb, MS, Cassandra Howard of McComb, MS, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister Carole Frazier (Craig) of Franklin Co., MS and a brother Vernon Jones of Fort Myers, FL, two very special friends Judy Lang of Summit and Paula Bunch of Brandon, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Vance Tarver, Philip Pine, John Adams, Bernie Simmons, Leslie Davis and Dustin Pine.
