Murray Pat Lambert, 81, of McComb, passed away April 22, 2022 at Camellia Estates in McComb, MS.

Graveside services with military honors are 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb with Mrs. Connie Felter officiating. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pat was born on December 20, 1940 in McComb City Hospital to the late Murray Anderson and Wilda Marsalis "Peggy" Lambert.

He joined the Mississippi Air National Guard, transferred to the United States Air Force and made a 35 year career in the United States Air Force Reserves before retiring as the Chief Master Sergeant of the 924th Fighter Wing Unit at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas. Upon retirement, he returned to McComb where he spent the next 20 years playing golf daily at Fernwood Country Club and renewing his friendships with his beloved McComb High School Class of 1959.

The best part of his retirement was being able to spend part of each day with his grandsons, Jake and Bert, who lovingly called him "Bay." There was not a game, swim meet or school activity where you would not find Bay cheering the boys and their friends on from the stands.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Rick Passman.

He is survived by his daughter, Judi Lambert Passman, two grandsons, John Richard and Thomas Lambert Passman; sister Vicky Magee and husband Don Magee; nieces Kate (Joey) Fontenot; Trulee (Jorge) Torres; Dana (Micah) Webb; and great nieces and nephews Jesse Fontenot, Ella Ruth and Owen Webb, and Olivia and Sophia Torres.
