Obituary

Nannie Lucille Richardson, a resident of McComb, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb with Dr. David Millican officiating. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille was born on November 14, 1931 in McComb. She was the youngest of nine children born to James Lemuel Carlisle and Edna Irene Blailock Carlisle.

She graduated from McComb High School in 1950 and married Clarence "Pender" Richardson on November 4, 1950. They were married for almost sixty-three years and raised three daughters in a Christian home.

Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will  be greatly missed by her family. She was a member of South McComb Baptist Church. She worked for thirteen years as a teacher's assistant in McComb public schools. Lucille always had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She enjoyed her retirement years, helping Pender raise a garden each summer and putting up vegetables.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two daughters, Carolyn R. Felder and Beverly R. Deer. Also, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward, Emmett, Ervin, Robert "Pete", and Ray Carlisle, and two sisters, Julia Mae Montgomery and Anna Lee Hill.

Survivors include her daughter, Jenny R. Jackson; sons-in-law, Kenny Jackson, Carl Felder, and Wade Deer;  grandchildren, Josh Felder, Julie (Mark) Prejean, and Jenae (Kelley) Jackson; great - grandchildren, Dravan Felder, Leland Felder, Braedy Jackson, Rowe Jackson, and Guliana Giovannucci; and brother, Howard (Emily) Carlisle.

Pallbearers are Dravan Felder, Leland Felder, Josh Felder, Kenny Jackson, Mark Prejean, and Wade Deer.

Her family would like to thank Loretta and Frieda of the Claiborne, the third floor nurses at SMRMC, and Karen Childs and Matt Lambert of Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care given to our mother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South McComb Baptist Church, 340 24th St., McComb, MS.
