Neola Moore Thornton, 96, a resident of McComb Nursing and Rehab, formerly of Smithdale, MS, passed away June 20, 2022.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until services at 1:00 PM.  Rev. Leon Wallace will officiate.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive cemetery.

Neola was born on December 11, 1925 in Lincoln, Co. MS to Samuel Edgar Moore and Maybelle Howard Moore.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  Mrs. Neola owned and operated Neola's Fabrics and Sears in Bude, MS for many years.  She enjoyed time with the Homemakers Club in Franklin Co.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Lee Thornton; her siblings, Howard Moore, Edgar "Junior" Moore, Jr., Marie Mulford, Bernice Cotten and Yvonne Myers, along with a grandson Brett Sessions.

She is survived by her children Brenda T. Netterville and Floyd of Smithdale, MS, Regena T. Compton and Jerry of Smithdale, MS, Denise T. Wentworth and Forrest of Wetumpka, AL and Connie T. Sessions and Lee of Wetumpka, AL; six grandchildren, Flint Welch, Amanda Welch, Cliff Wentworth (Amanda), Brandon Wentworth (Robyn), and Alexandria Sessions; five great grandchildren, Kaylee Wentworth, Cassie Wentworth, Jack Wentworth, Eliza Wentworth and Shiloh Wentworth, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
