Nevelyn Arver Allred, 78 years old, of Smithdale, MS., passed away on November 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at home.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 1 PM until services at 3 PM.

Nevelyn was born on September 16, 1946, in Amite County, MS., to the late Henry Rawls and Luessie Carraway Johnston.

Nevelyn was a homemaker and a member of Adams U.M.C. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed Crocheting, Sewing, Needlepoint and Cross stitch. She loved her gospel and Bluegrass music and planting flowers. She especially loved her family and will be sadly missed by all of them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnnie "Purvis" Allred, one sister, Mattie Lee Newman and her son in-law, Javier Garcia.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny C. Allred and Howard C. Allred (Alison), one daughter Allyson Garcia, six brothers, Robert Johnston, Harold Johnston, Thomas Earl "Pete" Johnston (Mary Alice),  Guy Johnston, Clayton Johnston (Tot) and Douglas Johnston (Cathy), four sisters, Louise Brumfield, Betty Sue Smith, Etta Merle Hux, Lexine Deer (Jimmy), five grandchildren, Aimee Rushing, Stephana Graham (Matt), Blake Guidry (Destiny), Steven Allred and Kristen Allred, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild with numerous nieces, nephews and her "adopted daughter" LuLu (Suzy Q) (her adopted German Shepherd).
