Pamela A.
Coney
September 7, 1963 – December 22, 2024
Pamela Annette Bates Coney, 61, of Summit, MS passed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in New Orleans at Ochsner Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM until services at 12:00 PM. Rev. Cartrell Jackson will officiate.
Pam was born in Gulfport, MS on September 7, 1963 to Marvin Bates and Janice Fortenberry Bates. She spent her life being a dedicated wife, mother, and MeMaw. She loved cooking, going antiquing while traveling, spending time with her family which included telling stories of her past, coloring, and playing games with her grandkids. Her favorite destination was the mountains. No matter where she was, she could always make a house a home. There was no holiday that passed that she did not put great effort into making it special. Her grandchildren were her world and she was the world to her grandchildren. She will continue to live on in the lives of family and all who knew her. She will be incredibly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving companion Lil' Red.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Rickey Lee Coney of Summit, two daughters Celeste Coney Westmoreland (Jason) of Magnolia, Arkansas and Jennifer Coney Evans (Matthew) of McComb, MS, grandchildren Trenton Westmoreland, Jacob Westmoreland, Annistyn Evans, Daniel Westmoreland, and Brynleigh Evans, and her beloved Dachshund Rusty, along with numerous other relatives and many close friends.
Her family and she would like to thank the teams of doctors, nurses, and techs at Ochsner Transplant Medical Center in New Orleans for their service, support and especially their kindness. Without these wonderful people and their warm hearts, these last few weeks wouldn't have been possible. They loved and cared for Pam as if she was their own "MeMaw".
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pike National Bank C/O Coney Family Grandchildren.
