Mrs. Patsy Lynn Brown, 77, of Summit, passed away on July 28, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home in McComb from 1 PM until services at 3 PM. Burial will follow at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church in Summit. Dr. David Millican will officiate.
Mrs. Brown was born on November 11, 1945, in Franklin County, MS to the late Evelyn Watts Roberts and Joseph B. Cupit.
She was a graduate of North Pike High School. She was a homemaker that had a love of gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She worked alongside her husband and children at family-owned Gene's Tire Center. She enjoyed being an outside traveling commercial salesman. She excelled at sales and enjoyed spending time with her customers and their families. She retired in 2006 but remained active in the business. She took on a role as caregiver of her mother and found a new love for painting. She had many art showings at the Gulf South Gallery in McComb. She also enjoyed reading books and watching DVDs from her extensive collection. Over the years, she had several pets that stole her heart. She never met a stranger and had a very giving heart. She thoroughly enjoyed and loved her role as Mimi to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Stanley Roberts and J.B. and Kit Cupit and infant sister, Sandra Kay Cupit.
She is survived by husband, Gene Brown, daughters Kristie (Michael) Authement of Summit, MS, and Debra Guy (Randy McKissack) of Navarre Beach, FL, and son Daniel (Amanda) Brown of Hattiesburg, MS; Grandchildren, Meghan (Lee) Williams, Hunter (Miranda) Authement, Katie (Cody) Massey, Dustin Brabham, Kendalyn Guy, Shea Brown, and Peyton Brown; Great-grandchildren Annie Williams, Mason and Maddox Brabham; Sister, Sherri Cupit (Troy) Brashier of Zachary, LA and brother, Rex (Linda) Cupit of Pride, LA, as well as nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Authement, Dustin Brabham, Shea Brown, Peyton Brown, Chandler Guy and Jamie Brown.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Claiborne Assisted Living of McComb, caregivers of All At Home Personal Care, and Deaconess Hospice.
