Peggy Lou Montgomery Wicker, born on August 3, 1943, in McComb, Mississippi, has been a cherished pillar in the lives of all who have known her. The daughter of Carey G. and Clara W. Montgomery, Peggy was nurtured in a community rich with faith and family values, which she carried throughout her life.

On January 17, 1964, Peggy married the love of her life, Hilery Winston Wicker, at Navilla Baptist Church in McComb, MS. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion, raising their three children with warmth and care. Though Winston passed away in 1998, Peggy's love for him endured in her heart as she continued to cherish the family they created.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Winston Wicker, her son, Brian Winston Wicker, her parents, her in-laws – Hilery A.& Emily Wicker, Brothers-in-law – Aubrey D. McEwen & Donald Morgan.

Peggy's legacy is carried forward by her children, Brenda W. Ramsey and her husband, James D. Ramsey, III, of Waveland, Ms, where she lived and was cared for by her beloved daughter, and Brady K. Wicker and his wife, Ann M. Wicker, of Baton Rouge, LA. Her kindness and spirit live on in her grandchildren, Morgan C. and Kassity Blackwell, Dylan L. and McKayla Blackwell, Joseph W. Wicker, and Clarie Wicker, and in her great-grandchildren, Raelynn R. Blackwell, Remington L. Blackwell, and Tahlia R. Blackwell and more nieces and nephews and extended family than we can even count.

She is also fondly remembered by her sister, Betty Sue McDaniel, and her husband, Chris, of McComb, MS, along with her sisters-in-law, Martha McEwen, Faye Morgan, Linda Carroll, and the late Mary Causeyand also many cherished friends.Peggy's warmth and gentle spirit were infectious, her smile a beacon of light to all who encountered her.

Peggy's professional life was marked by her dedication as a self-employed accountant and bookkeeper. Through her business, Wicker Bookkeeping & Tax Service, she served the McComb community with integrity and expertise until her retirement in 2021. She was a respected member of both the National Society of Accountants and the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, reflecting her commitment to her craft.

A woman of profound faith, Peggy devoted countless hours to Holmesville Baptist Church. Previous to joining Holmesville, she held roles at other churches as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, pianist, organist, and church treasurer, which were testament to her unwavering dedication. Her voice enriched the lives of many as part of the Faith Trio, a singing group that brought joy and inspiration to all who listened.

Peggy's hobbies were as varied as they were enriching. She adored singing and playing the piano or organ, and found peace in tending to her garden. Her culinary skills were legendary among family and friends, but above all, her greatest love was reading the Bible and sharing her faith with those around her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Peggy's devoted caregivers, Darlene & Michelle, Gentiva Hospice, Bro. Doyle & Sister Linda of Salt Light Baptist Church, and Bro. James from The Church at 112, for their unwavering support and kindness.

A service to honor Peggy's life will be held at Hartman~Jones Funeral Home 1801 Delaware Ave. McComb, MS Friday at 1:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 until time of services. Rev. Trent Bilbo will officiate.

Peggy Montgomery Wicker's life was a testament to love, faith, and family. Her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her, as her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved.

Pallbearers & honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
