Phyllis Freeman, 60, of McComb, MS passed away peacefully at her residence on October 19, 2023.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church from 12 PM until services at 2 PM. Burial will be at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Dwayne Scoggins will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis was born in Brookhaven, MS on August 29, 1963 to Ernestine Allen and William C. Allen. She was the former director of DHS in McComb, MS. Phyllis was a member of Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School to preschoolers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her paternal grandparents Ebb and Eugena Allen, her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Nell White, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Homer T. and Sandra Freeman, great-nephew Fisher Martin, and great-niece Annleigh Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Pat Freeman of McComb, MS., two brothers Dennis (Sharon) Allen of Petal, MS. and Bill (Angie) Allen of Huntsville, AL., one sister Judy (Ed) Boyd of Brookhaven, MS., one sister-in-law Dale (Shawn) Jenkins of Summit, MS., special friends Jay (Rhonda) Wylie of Slidell, LA., six nephews, two nieces, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, a host of family and friends, and a loyal pet and faithful companion, Coal T.

Pallbearers will be Scott McDaniel, Daniel Bales, Donnie Allen, Jonathan McDaniel, Marty Bigner and Austin Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ed Boyd, Shawn Jenkins, Lee McDonalds, Mason Bigner, Joshua Allen, Allen Boyd and Eric Boyd.
