Richard Earl Nobles, Sr., 67, of Summit, MS passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a brief but well-fought illness with ALS “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”
A visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM, continuing Friday, September 18, 2026 from 1 PM until services at 2 PM. Burial will be at Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery and Rev. Jim Bradford will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ricky, as he was lovingly called, was born on August 15, 1959, in Tylertown, MS to Glinda Bond Craft and the late Carl Nobles. He was a member of the Army National Guard. He retired as a truck driver with Sanderson Farms after 30 plus years. He enjoyed hunting, feeding and watching deer and wildlife. He also rode four wheelers and motorcycles. He loved sci-fi and forensic crime shows. He loved his grandchildren and children, giving them cookies, popsicles, and riding his buggy at the river camp. He taught his family to live life to the fullest, and treasured his family and life after retirement.
He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents Carl Lee Nobles and Aulene Welch; his maternal grandparents Rita and Earnest Bond; one niece Brandy Potts; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Lamar and Mary Cutrer; his brother-in-law Ricky Cutrer; and his sister-in-law Diane Cutrer.
He is survived by his mother Glinda Craft of Progress, MS; his sons Richard Nobles, Jr. (Lindsey) of Summit, MS and Michael Nobles (Cassi) of Bogue Chitto, MS; his daughter Krystal Ezell (Gabe) of Summit, MS; eleven grandchildren Tristan Nobles, Trent Ezell, Carson Nobles, Adylen Nobles, Allyn Newman, Lilly Nobles, Tatum Ezell, Henley Nobles, Cohen Nobles, Anna Ezell, and Chloe Nobles; his brother John Nobles (Cheryl) of Summit, MS; his sister Renea Potts (Kirk) of Kentwood, LA; the mother of his children and special friend Jackie Nobles; his beloved dog Cookie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his special friends, BB Thibodeaux, Sandy Childs, and his Sanderson Farms Work Family who affectionately called him Scooby/Scooby Doo. They would also like to thank Mrs. Jodi Waller and his caregiver Shirley Ramsey, along with his hospice nurses Taylor Boone, Sydney Blailock, and all the staff of Compassus Hospice.
Pallbearers will be BB Thibodeaux, Rusty Cutrer, Paul Cutrer, Tristan Nobles, Carson Nobles, and Trent Ezell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tatum Ezell and Cohen Nobles.
