Robert Earl Dickerson, 72, a resident of Summit, died at his residence surrounded by family and friends on November 1, 2022.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tangipahoa Baptist Church and will continue on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 12:00 until funeral service at 2:00 PM at Tangipahoa Baptist Church and burial will be in Whittington Cemetery. Rev. Mike Morris and Pastor Jack Whittington will officiate. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of services.

Robert was born January 5, 1950. He was the son of John H. Dickerson and Dorothy M. Dickerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Dickerson, Sr. and Dorothy M. Dickerson; his wife, Sylvia E. Dickerson; a daughter, Angela M. Dickerson and a brother, David Dickerson.

Robert was retired from the railroad, retired from MS National Guard. He was a chicken farmer for 30 years. He was a member of McComb Mason Lodge and he was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church.

Robert is survived by two sons, Chris Dickerson and wife Angela of Summit, MS and Dewayne Dickerson and wife Maricris of Summit, MS; a brother, James V. Dickerson, Sr.; seven grandchildren, Kristen Boggs and husband Trenten, Hayley Boykin and husband Jeff, Samantha Summers and husband Trent, Robbie, Michael, Izabella Dickerson all of Summit, MS, Elizabeth Altieri and husband Angelino of Houston, TX; twelve great grandchildren and two very special friends, David Travis and Janet Simmons.

Pallbearers will be Trent Summers, Trenten Boggs, Nolan Coleman, David Travis, Darren Wroten and James Dickerson, Jr.
