He practiced law for many years in McComb in partnership with his brother, RB. He was a Pike County Prosecuting Attorney, an Attorney for the South Pike School District and was part of many other legal institutions during the course of his practice.

One of Bob's proudest memories is during the civil unrest of the 60's when the KKK became very active in Pike County and were responsible for church bombings and assaults on local citizens. He was serving as the Pike County Prosecutor and along with the District Attorney, Sheriff and local Constables stood up against these hate crime and were able to bring them to the "Bar of Justice"
