Obituary

Sheryl Joy Cash Dunaway, 73, a resident of Summit, MS passed away on July 12, 2025 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 12 PM until services at 1 PM. Bro. Glen Crane will officiate and burial will be at Cothern Cemetery in Walthall County, MS. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sheryl was born on September 21, 1951 to the late William and Frances Moak Cash. She was wonderful , loving, giving  Christian lady. Her heart was generous, always thinking of others and ensuring that their needs were met even before her own. Her family and friends, and  church  were the most important things in her life, next to Jesus.  She treasured  her children and grandchildren  She loved cooking,  being involved with her church especially her ladies Sunday school group and ,taking trips and doing outings with her childhood friends with whom they humorously named their group "Barnett Road Hillbillies " they even had the t- shirts to prove it. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved stepfather Ed Gray; her beloved husband of 47 years J.W. Dunaway; her son Joshua Dunaway; one grandson Devin Estelle; and brothers and sisters Billy Cash, Wayne Cash, Brenda Gray, and Anita Cash.

She is survived by her children Jeannie Dunaway Estelle and Timothy Dunaway (Alisha); her daughter-in-law Heather Dunaway; eight grandchildren Dylan (Julia) Dunaway, Hannah (Leighton) Cubbage, Isabella "Madi" (Nathan) Parker, Kaden Allen, Jody Dunaway, Damian Grable, Bradley Alexander, and Halee Alexander; her siblings Fairie Love and Jimmy Cash; nieces and nephews Rachel(Butch) Kent,Tammy(Lee) Cash, John Cash, Lisa (Melvin)Swindol, Sherry (Curtis) Simmons, James Cash, Crystal Roselle, Jamie (Mandy) Hamilton, and Devin Dear;  and special friends and family Carla Moak, Yvone Tullos, Kay Dunn, Fellowship Baptist Church Ladies Sunday School Class, and the Barnett Road Hillbillies

Pallbearers will be Kaden Allen, Bradley Alexander, Leighton Cubbage, Lee Donovan, Timothy Dunaway and Jason Tullos. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Dunaway, Carlton Moak, and Jody Dunaway.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
