Shirley Fay Welch, 84, of Summit passed away February 23, 2024 at the Claiborne Assisted Living in McComb.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 11:00 until 11:45.  Graveside services will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Demond Kennedy officiating.  Pallbearers will be Terry Etheridge, Carl Volz, Eric Welch, Joshua Volz, Allen Fry and Adam Slaughter.

Mrs. Welch was born on April 22, 1939 in McComb, MS to the late William Leon Massey and Clara Bell Ray Massey.

Mrs. Shirley was a longtime store clerk for numerous businesses in McComb.  She was also the store manager for Cato's Store for many years.  She loved growing flowers and sitting on her front porch.  She was also a dedicated wife to her husband of 44 years Bertram Royce Welch and a very loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Leon Massey and Clara Bell Ray Massey;  her husband Bertram Royce Welch;  her son Jimmy Keith Welch; brothers Vernon Leon Massey and William Ray Massey; sisters Vera Nell Wallace and Geneva Pine.

Survivors include her daughters Gail Welch Etheridge and husband Terry of McComb, MS; Terry Welch Volz and husband Carl of Brandon, MS; Jimmy's wife Lori Welch of Summit, MS; grandchildren Eric Keith Welch and his wife Nicole,  Sabrina Hallman and her husband Adam, Lindsay Foreman, Lauren Slaughter and her husband Adam, Joshua Volz and his wife Angelica, Bella Volz; step grandchildren Charles Walton,  Simon Fry, Allen Fry and Joseph Fry; great grandchildren Ethen, Aspen, Brooklyn, Sydney and Sofia; and one sister Aylene Woodall.
