Sylvia Mona Ham, 85, a resident of Smithdale, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:30 AM. The Reverend Jim Bradford and Reverend Robert Netterville will officiate.

Mrs. Ham was born on January 5, 1941 to the late RD Barron and Mildred Wilson Barron. She was a member of Thompson Baptist Church and she loved crocheting, especially making blankets. She loved her church and the Lord. She also enjoyed the company of her little companion, a miniature Yorki known as Scarlett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband of 62 loving years John T. Ham, Jr. and her brother Michael Barron.

Mrs. Ham is survived by one son, Chris and wife, Debra Ham of Franklinton, LA. Two daughters: Tanya and husband, Jay Mellinger of Smithdale, and Tamara and husband, Sean Gill of McComb. 8 Grandchildren; 12 Great-grandchildren; and 3 Great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ham, Sean Gill, Jay Mellinger, Jessie Mellinger, Jasen Mellinger, and Peter Kettle

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Thompson Baptist Church are requested.
