April 9, 1943 – November 30, 2022
Rev. Norwood Thomas "Tebo" Wicker, 79, of Smithdale, MS, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, November 30, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be Friday evening December 2, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithdale from 5 until 8 PM and will continue Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 10:00 AM until services there at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Rev. Eric Moak, Rev. Bruce Crosby, and Bro. Kenneth Golman will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Wicker was born in Liberty, MS to the late Basil Wicker Sr. and Mary Alice Bellue Wicker.
He was a retired local minister for numerous churches over the past 60 years and he loved preaching and serving the Lord. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also loved to garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister-in-law, Linda Wicker.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Alexander Wicker of Smithdale; son Mark Wicker (Lisa) of Tylertown; son Eric Wicker (Leanne) of Jayess; daughter Joy Leake (Philip) of McCall Creek; son Wade Wicker (Christy) of Smithdale; grandchildren Nathan Wicker (Natalie), Seth Wicker, Emilee Fortenberry (Alex), Faith McMinn (Chanse), Kristen Leeper (Eric), Greg Johns (Becki), Emilee Leake, Alex Leake, Ava Leake, Clayton Wicker, Ana Wicker, Lexie Wicker, and Emma Grace Wicker; great grandchildren Scott Wicker, Renlee Fortenberry, Cam McMinn, Greyson McMinn, Bennett McMinn, Jack Leeper, Jude Leeper, Waylon Leeper, Kaige McNear, and Kasyn Johns; brothers Rev. Basil Wicker Jr.; Carroll Wicker (Betty); Malcolm Wicker (Maureen); sisters Joyce Cothren (Roger); Margaret Gee (Kenny); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
