Obituary

Valarie Renee Hunkapillar McGehee, 44, of Summit Mississippi passed away at her residence on March 10, 2023.

A private family service only. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Valarie was born in Gladewater, Texas on February 14, 1979 to Billie Dean Severn and Sandra Jean Severn. She was later put into foster care and was adopted by her adoptive parents Darryl and Beverly Hunkapillar to which she moved to Brookhaven, Mississippi.

This move got her through high school and later to meet Bill her loving husband who she was married to for 25 years. She had a wild kindred spirit that everyone enjoyed and loved. There was never a dull moment when she was around, because she always saw the light in the situation. She was such a strong and passionate person about everything she did or whatever got in her way.

Her children and family were her top priorities, always going to do something fun with the children or just getting them out of the house. When it came to her nieces and nephews she loved doing anything and everything with them. She would tell them to load up just to make a loop around the dirt road. Family was everything to her.

She is preceded in death by her son Ty Ford McGehee and by her birth mother Sandra Severn and adoptive mother Beverly Hunkapillar and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Charles William McGehee (Bill) of Summit, her sons Jackson McGehee, Tayden McGehee, Paxton McGehee, and Lawson McGehee all of Summit, her father Darryl Hunkapillar and his wife Shirley Hunkapillar of Summit, her mother in law Carolyn McGehee of Summit, sisters Melissa Tjogas, Billie Jean Tjogas, Felicia Jewell, and her brothers Stephen Severn, Michael Severn, Travis Moore and many more loving family members and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Bryant, Travis Moore, Zack McGehee, and Gage Havlin.
