Velma Maxine Ard, 77, 0f Magnolia, MS passed away on April 13th, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS.

A graveside service will be held Friday April 22, 2022 at 11 AM at the Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia, MS. Bro. Greg Whitehead will be officiating.

Velma was born on February 17th, 1945 to the late Fred Ravencraft and Lorraine Nerren Ravencraft.

Velma, a woman of non-denominational faith, was a homemaker who loved to read, sew, and garden in her free time. Velma also was a great cook. She had a fascination with computers and loved to re-decorate her home. Velma was described by her family as the sweetest, understanding woman on earth as well as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Ard; and one sister, Bessie Smith.

She is survived by two sons, Kelvin D. Carter (Peggy) and Kelly W. Ard (Shannon); seven grandchildren: Ginger, Brandon, Ashley, Erica, Alexis, Amanda, and Chasity; twelve great-grandchildren; one special nephew, Jimmy Smith; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be volunteers of the Pike County Fire Department.
