Obituary

Virginia Dale Dixon Mabry, 96, a true southern lady, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2022 at the Claiborne in McComb, MS.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Liberty Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until services at 2:00 PM.  Burial in Liberty Cemetery will follow services. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia was born on October 16, 1925 in Amite Co., MS to David Morris "John" Dixon, Sr. and Lillian Berryhill Dixon.  She was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she demonstrated her love and commitment to both the church and to God by serving as the church secretary, Sunday School Teacher, and providing food for all of the needs of the church and church family. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed the time and company of her good friends.  She graduated from Liberty High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women.  She was a charter member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) serving as the Amite River Chapter treasurer for 50 years and a WMU member.   She was a generous lady, giving to family and friends were her joy; she provided the funds for piano lessons humbly.   Virginia was a supporter of family, tending to the home, her husband and her children.  She was a Proverbs 31 woman, her children truly rise up and call her blessed; but in truth they were the ones that were blessed to call her Mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William "Bill" Harrison Mabry, Sr., her brother David Morris "D.M." Dixon, Jr. and a daughter-in-law Barbara W. Mabry.

She is survived by her children William Harrison Mabry, Jr. (Joyce) of Liberty, Jesse Pepper Mabry of Liberty and Adair Mabry Brabham (Jack) of Covington, LA; her grandchildren William H. Mabry, III (Deana), Melissa Mabry Anderson, Brad Wooley (Kimberly), Michael Day Brabham (Alex) and Machaela Mabry Brabham; great grandchildren William H. Mabry, IV, Kayd Rush, Mabry Elizabeth Glass, Anne Riley Glass, Ella Virginia Glass, George William Glass, Fred Anderson,V, Seth Wooley, Tyler Wooley,  Sydni Wooley and Jackson Ford Brabham; great great grandchildren Ryleigh Wooley and Bryden Wooley; sister-in-law Ruth Dixon of Liberty and her faithful companion for over 50 years Margie Allen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Day Brabham, George William Glass, William H. Mabry, III, William H. Mabry, IV,  Brad Wooley, and Tyler Wooley.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Claiborne for the care given to Mrs. Virginia during her stay there.

In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Mrs. Virginia Mabry can be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Youth Fund.
