Wayne LaVerne Parker, 85, of Summit, MS passed away at his residence  on October 27, 2023  surrounded by his loving family.

No services will be announced at this time. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of arrangements.

Wayne L. Parker, 85, of Summit, MS passed away at his residence  on October 27, 2023  surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born on August 27, 1938 to the late Henderson and Maude Westbrook Parker.

Wayne was a Law Enforcement Officer for Pike County Sheriff's Department and McComb Police Department. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS. He served as a Mason and Veteran of the National Guard. Wayne was a skilled carpenter, a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carolyn Ann Patience Turner Parker and one son, Grayson Anthony Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Parker, one son Benjamin Wellington Parker (Angela), two brothers, Percy Lee Parker (Carol) and H.W. "Dub" Parker Jr., one sister Diane Wallace (Danny), two grandchildren, Cole Wellington Parker and Ashlyn Ann Parker, three step-grandchildren Brendan McCaskell, Brenna McCaskell and James McCaskell, one great-granddaughter Delilah McCaskell, one special nephew John Parker with numerous other nieces and nephews.
