Obituary

Wendy Ann Etheridge, age 53, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of May 29, 2023, at her home in Summit, MS.

Visitation will be Friday evening at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 12:00 until services at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow at Freedom Church cemetery in Wesson, MS.  Rev. David Lambert will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Terry Moran Sr., Arlie Etheridge Jr., Raymond Etheridge, Terry Moran Jr., Zachary Etheridge, Matthew Moran.

Wendy was born on March 26, 1970, as Wendy Ann Gonzales at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Wendy was a devoted wife and best friend to William (Billy) Etheridge Sr. for 34 years. A loving mother to her children; William (BJ) Etheridge Jr. and daughter in-law Melaney,  Ashley (Etheridge) Alford and son in-law Noel. She was also a proud grandmother to Isabella, William, Adele, Allie, Julia, and Mary Kathryn. Her family was the light of her life and she made sure her love for them was known. She is also survived by her siblings Roxanne Fay (Jeff) of Chalmette, LA, Jane Ezell of St. Barnard, LA, Rodney Gonzales of Sulphur, LA, Jennifer Gonzales of St. Barnard, LA; her mother by marriage, Mary Jo Etheridge and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Rosalie Gonzales, of Saint Bernard, Louisiana and brother, Poncho Gonzales of Mobile, AL.

Wendy dedicated the last 18 years as the Office Manager at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb, MS. Her professionalism and attention to detail made her an asset. Her kindness and gentleness made her family.

Outside of work, Wendy was creative and artistic. She loved to express herself through crafts and did so with her business, Krazi Kreations. She also had an adventurous spirit; loved to travel and explore new places.

Wendy's love for Jesus and her family was her guiding force in life. It was evident in her kindness, compassion, and love for others. She was a humble and pure-hearted person who had a profound impact on those who were blessed to know her. She learned to develop her relationship with God as a member of Freedom Church in Brookhaven, MS. She had never been more on FIRE for the Lord. She leaves a Legacy of love and servant hood behind.
