William Frank Brent, 82, of Summit, MS passed away February 11, 2022 at King's Daughter Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS.
Visitation will be at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carters Creek on Thursday February 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM until services at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Hartman Jones Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Houston will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Nick Cothern, Derwin Cothern, Robbie McCullough, Tim Smith, Mitch Morgan and Gordon Alexander. Honorary pallbearers are Kelby Brent and Tommy Roberts.
Mr. Brent was born on December 18, 1939 in Pike County, MS to Frank "Buster" Brent and Birdie Mae Brent.
He worked for I.C.G. Railroad for many years as a machinist until the shops closed in the mid 80's. He then worked for MDOT in maintenance until his retirement. Mr. Brent served in the US Army as a master helicopter mechanic and was stationed in Germany and Italy. He was also a longtime member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carters Creek. He loved woodworking, yard work and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Joan Carol Alexander Brent; three brothers Julius Brent and his wife Wyno, Donald Brent and his wife Mary Evelyn and Major Brent.
Survivors include his wife Rosa Lea Boyd Magee Brent of Summit, MS; one son Patrick Brent of Cologne, Germany; one daughter Monika Cothern and her husband Derwin of Summit; one grandson Nick Cothern and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
