William F. Crews Sr., 76, of McComb, MS, passed away at his residence on October 15, 2023 in the company of family, friends, and caretakers.

William (Bill) was born to Joseph H. Crews Sr. and Kathryn Moak Crews 8/21/47 in Meridian, MS.  He graduated from McComb High School in 1965 and the University of Southern Misissippi in 1969, and married Susan Price the same year.  He was employed by Traveler's Insurance and later Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Upon retirement he returned to his hometown of McComb.

Bill was preceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Kathryn, his wife Susan Crews, brother Joseph Crews Jr. and sister Eleanor Emanuel.  He is survived by his two sons, William F. Crews Jr. and Jeffrey J. Crews, his beloved companion Fran Holloway, his sister, Helen Rogers, and two grandsons, Jacob Crews and Owen Rottach, nephews Dudley and Richard Wilkinson, Matt Williamson, niece Janice Harrigill, and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends. The family would also like to acknowledge Verlene Nichols and Mae McCray, the kindest and best caretakers anyone could ask for.

Known for his wit and charm, Bill lit up the lives of those around him.  He enjoyed boating, motorcycling, camping with his sons on Pearl River sandbars, and watching football.  He took pride in his community, coaching little league, playing neighborhood softball, joining athletic booster clubs, and maintaining lifelong friendships.  A warm hearted, affectionate person, he relished good company.

William's family will hold a Celebration of Life on Nov. 11 at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator/Redeemer in McComb MS, 215 North Broadway.  Request no flowers, donations to the church or PALS in his memory are encouraged.  Visitation at the church will be from 10AM to 11AM, with a eucharist at 11.  Lunch following
