William Hinton Gray Jr., of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the age of 76.

He was a man of quiet strength and simple pleasures. He was the kind of person the world needs more of and rarely gets to keep long enough.

He lived his life with his hands open and his heart full. Those who knew him knew a man who gave generously without expecting anything in return, who showed up when it mattered, and who found joy in the honest, uncomplicated things.

He loved the thrill of hunting down a classic car, working on the engine, and then hearing that rumble as he drove it down the open road with the warmth of the sun on his face. He loved to work, and he did so with the dignity and dependability that defined everything about him.

He was a private man, not one for grand gestures or spotlight, but the love he carried for his family was immense and unmistakable to everyone fortunate enough to be close to him. He was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Hinton Gray Sr.; his mother, Georgia Shepherd Gray; and his sister, Georgia Frances Sharbrough of Rolling Fork, Mississippi.

William is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Gray Nguyen and her husband Anh-Tu Nguyen and granddaughter Liliana Nguyen of Austin, Texas; his sister Cyndy Gray Westbrook and her husband Buddy Westbrook of McComb, Mississippi; his brother, Joe Gray, and wife Keri Gray of Brandon, Mississippi; and his two nephews, Stephen and wife Pheng Phan Gray of Shreveport, Louisiana and Hollis Gray of Brandon, Mississippi.

He leaves behind a quieter world, and hearts that will carry him forward.
