William "Bill" Clyde McManus, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 65. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Chapel of The Cross in Madison, MS at 10 AM.
Bill was born on January 2, 1959, in Jackson Mississippi, to Clyde and Helen McManus. He graduated from Manhattan High School in 1977 and went to Mississippi State and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. At Mississippi State he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
In 1988, Bill married his sweetheart Debbie Nader McManus, with whom he had 35 years of marriage. Together, they raised one child, Brittany McManus Gonzalez who he adored. They moved to Chesterfield, Virginia in 1995, then Birmingham, Alabama in 1997.
Bill owned several businesses throughout his life, in Mississippi, Virginia and Alabama. He could repair and build anything including the home he raised his daughter in. Bill's wit and laugh were infectious, and he had a charisma that drew people to him. He had a vibrant personality and contagious laughter that brightened the lives of all who knew him. Bill also had a passion and love for all animals.
Bill is survived by his wife, Deborah Nader McManus; his daughter, Brittany McManus (Mark) Gonzalez; his granddaughter, Gray Sunny Gonzalez, all of Clearwater, Florida; his siblings, John Alford (Ann) McManus of Jackson, MS and Helen Jenea McManus (Mark) Partyka of Birmingham AL; nieces and nephews Elizabeth McManus Jerome and Wes McManus of Jackson, Ms and Andrew Partyka and Laurel Partyka of Birmingham, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Helen McManus. Bill will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the any no-kill animal shelter, American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
